Paddles with an Anas acuta...... unashamedly biased toward the sea kayak of that name (actually the voyages of two boats, one 'traffic over gold', one 'quill')

Brittany weekend

Busy this summer, but hopefully the Autumn will give me some time to be blogging. In  the meantime a taste of a long weekend in Brittany.

Lunch miles from the open sea in Lannion, you might just be able to see the tide powered slalom course behind the bridge.  Is this the only one in the world used for international competitions?

A tide race as friendly as they get.

Twenty paddling companions from several countries on one wave.

Just hanging out in the kelp.

Just a taste of Jersey

Letting the experts try it first,

Mixed weather, from hot sunshine to cold rain

Exploring caves,

a few moments later, Liz was battling the 'swell of the day' deep in this crevice, but came out upright and unscathed.

Another spot requiring careful timing...

Rounding the SW tip of Jersey, La Corbiere, in a sea fret on the last day.
