Paddles with an Anas acuta...... unashamedly biased toward the sea kayak of that name (actually the voyages of two boats, one 'traffic over gold', one 'quill')

Good water level on the Exe

Once again we were lucky with water levels at the weekend, melting snow and a succession of fronts gave a good depth. We were on the Exe, more details and some video here.

On the way home we left the main road for a picnic and met the flooded river Parrett, it was tempting to get the boats out, but mine was on someone else's roof and we were tired, so it was reverse gear back down the lane.

Fun in the snow

Out on the bikes with the Tuesday night crowd for my 60th birthday ride. Two hours of hard work uphill on the fire-tracks, never had so long been spent in bottom gear! Dropping behind being punished by a hail of snowballs from the waiting vanguard. Stunning beautiful downhill single track, with the off-camber steep slopes being particularly technical, but a soft landing guaranteed if it all went pear shaped. Then back along the snowy roads to my house for well deserved beer and sausages.
