Paddles with an Anas acuta...... unashamedly biased toward the sea kayak of that name (actually the voyages of two boats, one 'traffic over gold', one 'quill')

Paddling into the sunset on Wednesday evening
The sea like a mill pond after a week without a breath of wind or a cloud in the sky, temperatures in the 20s. We paddled into the sunset out by the 'Roway', the wreck just visible beneath our boats, but even the trailing weed was beyond paddle depth despite it being low water.
A few minutes after this it was Jupiter, Venus and the host of stars that lit our way. The water to ourselves apart from Eastney RNLI on exercises and the coastguard helicopter making a routine flight along the coast. It briefly cast its search light over our small flotilla as we were making our way home about 0.5nm offshore.
